Jersey Interchange with Christian Lesperance

Christian Lesperance is the mastermind behind Jersey Interchange, a collaboration series that reimagines the songs of the New Jersey punk, hardcore, emo, and ska scenes of the late 90s and early 2000s. Christian joins Andrea on the podcast today because Jersey Interchange is releasing its debut full-length album C1, out May 5th on Sinking Ship Records. C1 features covers of artists who made their name in the Jersey scene (bands like Bigwig, The Ergs! and Shades Apart) covered by artists who also made their name in the Jersey scene (in bands like Bigwig, The Ergs! and Shades Apart). This album is an absolute Jersey love fest, but it’s also just a collection of really great covers of really great songs and an example of something really beautiful that celebrates collaboration and expression and community and all that good stuff we could use a little more of these days.

Pre-orders for C1 have already started. They’ll be celebrating the album with a release show on May 13th at Twin Elephant Brewing Co. in Chatham NJ. Folks from bands including Shades Apart, Vision, Lanemeyer, NJ Joystick, Avery, One cool Guy, right Turn Eddie and lots more will be taking turns playing acoustic sets, and the whole thing will be headlined by comedian and Jersey punk diehard, Chris Gethard. Tickets on sale now.
