Kitzy’s Bandcamp Friday Recommendations

It’s the first Friday of the month, and that means it’s another Bandcamp Friday! While every day is a good day to support the musicians and artists that you love, on the first Friday of the month, Bandcamp waives their share of the revenue so 100% goes to the artists (after payment processor fees).

Bandcamp Friday started in March of 2020 as a way to help artists affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, nearly 800,000 fans have purchased $56 million dollars worth of music that all went directly to the artists and labels.

If you’re looking for some new music to check out, here are some recommendations.

Catbite – Nice One

Nice One, the 2nd album by Philadelphia’s neo-ska outfit Catbite, is out today! We love this record, and you will too! If their cover of Bidi Bidi Bom Bom doesn’t get you dancing, then I don’t know what will!

Kississippi – Mood Ring

Kississippi is back with their 2nd album, Mood Ring. The follow up to 2018’s Sunset Blush is an absolute pop masterpiece. Speaking of Sunset Blush, we spoke with Zoe from Kississippi about a few songs from the record last year on our podcast.

Anika Pyle – I Felt Your Shape (Microphones Cover)

Anika Pyle released an absolutely haunting bedroom cover of her favorite song by The Microphones, I Felt Your Shape. We spoke with Anika earlier this year about her record, Wild River.

The Tisburys – Tear Us Apart

The Tisburys have a new single out called Tear Us Apart, and along with the single there is an instrumental mix and a dub mix, for those of you who just can’t get enough of this song! If you want even more from The Tisburys, check out their Left of the Dial Live session.

Long Neck – 2021 Demos

Long Neck have released an EP of demos that will only be available today! Get them before it’s too late! Also check out Long Neck’s Left of the Dial Live session!
